Ahmedabad, October 2025:
Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA) and Ahmedabad Family Physicians Association (AFPA) proudly announce the successful completion of the “Doctor On Call” Diwali Medical Helpline, which operated from 19th to 26th October 2025. This unique service provided round-the-clock medical advice and support to the citizens of Ahmedabad during the festive period.
Throughout the week-long initiative, over 100 calls were received and managed by the team of volunteer doctors. The vast majority of queries were related to seasonal ailments such as colds, coughs, fevers, and allergies. Additionally, the helpline supported patients with routine follow-up needs due to temporary closure of local medical facilities during Diwali, and addressed cases such as minor burns induced by festive activities.
This initiative ensured that expert medical advice was available to all, bridging the gap in healthcare access during the holidays and reinforcing the commitment of AMA and AFPA to community well-being.
The management teams of AMA and AFPA express sincere gratitude to all participating doctors, volunteers, and media partners for supporting and amplifying this public health effort. The positive response from citizens highlights the continued need for such community-focused services, and both associations remain dedicated to launching similar initiatives for future festivals and emergencies.
